  • McDonald’s Just Recalled 1 Million Chicken Nuggets

    Reports of gross discoveries in McDonald’s menu items. From a dead mouse found in coffee in one its Canadian chains to dental material and human tooth discovered in fries, reports about food being served with hazardous, inedible material refuse to die. The plummeting sales are indicative of its damaged brand image and dwindling customer support.

    “We deeply apologize for the trouble we have caused our customers and we are taking quick measures to analyze the cause of the contamination,” said company spokeswoman Takashi Hasegasa.

    This isn’t even the worst thing found in McDonald’s food. Just last August, a customer in Osaka complained after finding a piece of a human tooth in their french fries order. Yuck!

    McDonald’s has been having some poultry issues though. Last July, McDonald’s had to shut down its poultry supplier in China after the company began mixing fresh chicken with expired chicken meat, making it a potentially deadly health hazard for consumers.

    Stories like these have led to a 10% drop in McDonald’s sales just in the last year, according toCNN. McDonald’s is trying to smooth it over with discounts, giveaways, and new nuggets made of tofu. Interesting.

    The summer food scares led McDonald's Japan sales to drop more than 10 percent every month compared to the previous year, according to CNN. This fiscal year, the golden arches are bracing themselves for the their first net loss in Japan in 11 years.

    In an effort to bounce back, McDonald's Japan launched a sales campaign with discounts, giveaways, and new nuggets made from tofu.
