A new study confirms what has long been suspected: highly processed foods like chocolate, pizza and French fries are among the most addictive.
The study in the journal PLOS One used questionnaires designed to link eating habits with addictive behaviours. For instance participants were asked which foods were associated with certain emotional states such as pleasure or reward as well as which foods they found hard to stop eating.

The analysis found that obese subjects who did not have glucose metabolism disorders had higher levels of vitamin D than diabetic subjects. Likewise, lean subjects with diabetes or another glucose metabolism disorder were more likely to have low levels of vitamin D. Vitamin D levels were directly correlated with glucose levels, but not with BMI.
