    obesity1-617x416We are living in a country where starvation was never of a major problem, we are so abundant with different kinds of food and from different places both domestic and abroad. In fact the U.S. Department of Agriculture have release a figure in 2010 this figure will let us understand how much food we have wasted annually in terms of calories, it was a staggering amount of — 141 trillion calories down and depleted, this would translate to over 1,249 calories per capita per day. In additional to that, previous reports way back years ago that there over 133 billion pounds of food is wasted in 2010 — that's about 31 percent of the total food supply. And it would amount to $161.6 billion.
    The statement above has complemented the idea that obesity could be or indirectly the result of how much access we have on food that we can pretty much eat whatever we want whenever we want. Obesity is almost like a one way road, and are often described as a point of no return. Because losing weight is the hardest thing to do on earth so to speak. How can you get rid of it while it is still early, if you see yourself going in that direction.

    Now I’m not going to sit here and remind you how harmful obesity can be to your health; the associated health concerns, like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, disability, high cholesterol, and hypertension, have been well documented and that information is in abundant supply. Instead, I’m more interested in exploring why this phenomenon has taken over America and what, if anything, you can do to protect yourself from it.
    Generally speaking, Americans are overweight and obese because they eat too much. But why do they eat too much? Is the food too good to resist, or are there physiological and genetic factors at play? Some research is saying that it’s not overeating that’s causing people to become overweight and obese, but its being overweight and obese that causes people to overeat.
